Various stone panels in our Westport showroom
Stone Types
We supply both Sandstone and Glenmore Limestone.
Which type of stone is best ?
This depends on your specific project and also on which stone has the strongest appeal to you. There is no one stone which is best.
Sandstone has a nice variation in both colour and texture generally over the Beige, Tan, Light brown and Brown colour range.
Limestone is darker and has a more classic, more uniform look usually over a range of colours varying from Light Grey, to Blue/Grey to a darker shade of Blue/Black.
Pointed finish or Dry Build ?
Also the style of build makes quite a difference to the final appearance. Some clients prefer a dry build with no pointing. This gives a very natural appearance as per the images below.
Others prefer a dark grey (cement coloured ) pointing which is very typical to Ireland.
There is no difference in cost between the dry build and the pointed finish. It is totally a matter of which has most appeal to you the client. A really great plan is to come and visit us in Westport. Then you can discuss your project fully, select a stone type, meet with us and get a cost and time estimate. It is hard to beat that approach.
If this is not practical, then please give us a call and we will make an alternative plan.
